The Anti-Violence Project (AVP) released their national report on hate violence for 2011. Nationwide, there were 30 killings of LGBT Americans due to hate, which is the highest yearly total ever recorded. http://www.avp.org/documents/NCAVPHVReport2011Finallowres.pdf
Whackos are coming out of the woodwork and exacerbating matters to dangerously inflame choices between gay rights and religious liberty. In a May 8 Family Research Council fundraising letter focusing on gays in the military, the group's president, Tony Perkins, wrote: "Enemies of Christianity, those who would silence the Gospel and eradicate our faith, are pushing hard, working fast. ... Forcing acceptance of open homosexuality in the military was only the beginning. Muzzling those who speak out against this policy goes hand in hand with it."
"We know that in the 21st century human rights are not only a question of civil and political liberties. It's about the fundamental question of whether people everywhere have the chance to make the most of their God-given potential," said Hillary Clinton, secretary of state. Sadly, the only women who will benefit with their god given talents will be the immigrants. It will be on the dime of American woman, like me, who have slaved her life away for nothing securing their civil and human rights.  |
