Veteran gay US Marine Staff Sergeant Eric Alva became the first US Marine to be injured in the Iraq War when he stepped on a land mine and lost his right leg.

This week when he spoke out in favor of extending the city's nondiscrimination law, Alva was booed by anti-LGBT protesters at a San Antonio City Council meeting in Texas.  From the podium he said,  'To all you people that preach the word of God, shame on you because God loves me, like the day I laid bleeding on the sands of Iraq and that’s why he saved me.'

Despite thirteen years of serving in the military that included postings in Okinawa and Somalia, desperate local pastors held a prayer vigil outside the council chambers. O' the "church", the sad tax exempt church. So full of hate.  Regardless of their sexual orientation or gender, they should be sent to the front lines Automatically.... It might teach them a lesson in manners!

Veteran gay US Marine Staff Sergeant Eric Alva is my hero. He would never harass me the way these petty minded straight men have. Send them to the front lines Immediately...It might teach them a lesson in loosing their arrogance!  Such disrespect should never be tolerated. It's not only rude but its Morally Wrong..

Fundamentalist religion is the scourge of the homosexual.

Americans booing a veteran, who put himself in harm's way for his country, lost a leg in the process. Condemned by "Christians," just because he is gay is utterly repugnant and a disgrace.

The "pastors" holding the prayer vigil should be using it to ask God to forgive them for presuming to be God. "Judge not lest you be judged". Three cheers for Sgt. Alva!

Not to worry Alva: such Religious goons treated Jesus the same, but WOE unto them!

How religion could transform human beings into monsters! How disrespectful to our heroes. How untrue and unfaithful to their own hearts! How gross! Shame, shame on them!

Dear Honorable Members:

Thanx so much for having concern about violence against women, violence against LGBT and other minorities. As you know, I have been profiled as being a lesbian for which I have suffered innumerable injustices for which I have had no access to any court. The physical and psychological violence and torture, and the removal of my two sons without my consent has been intolerable. I have had some comfort from my mustang horses that have made life somewhat bearable.

During a time while I was arbitrarily arrested and confined in a mental institution for three months, I filed a lawsuit and defended myself asking one Oregon court to recognize and acknowledge that my livestock were not only needed for my profession (horse shoeing and trimming), but that they were also very much comfort for my needed companionship. They have helped soothe my emotional outrage from the civil and human right violations.

They have been very instrumental as therapeutic tools especially due to the grievous loss of my children. My mustangs have given me somewhat of a motherly purpose to care, feed, and water them. They have helped me with depression and have given me a reason to wake up in the morning.

Unfortunately, for the last few years, I feel as though the people in my community are thwarting my efforts and adding additional frustration to this purpose. The most recent incidents are that I am being locked out and discriminated because I won't slave for the other people who have horses. Or, they envy too much and they are uncontrolled in their actions and non-actions. This has cost me an unreasonable amount of money for their unneccessary actions.

Because of your concern for me and my children I have attached photos of my children for you to see who they are and who I am.
